How receiving works
When someone faxes your number, the carrier turns the fax into a PDF and tells our system. We save the PDF at once, because the carrier link expires quickly, and we email you. You open or download the PDF under Faxes in your dashboard.
How sending works
Upload a PDF, enter the fax number with its country code and send. The fax is queued and its status updates from queued to sending to delivered or failed. Pages are charged upfront from your wallet, adjusted to the carrier's page count after delivery, and refunded if the fax fails.
What you get
Every fax is kept as a PDF with the date, the other party's number, the page count and the status.
- PDF files in and out
- Email notice for every fax received
- Status for every fax you send
- Refund of the page charge when a send fails
Why a fax can fail
Fax depends on the other machine and its phone line. Busy lines, no answer and poor lines are common causes. A failed send is not charged.
