Without this add-on, a HynoConnect number cannot call 911 or other emergency services. Keep another phone available for emergencies.
We register a service address for your number with our carrier. When you call 911 from the number, the carrier can send that address to the emergency call centre. We review every address by hand before we switch emergency calling on, and we confirm by email when it is active.
The location sent is the address you registered, not where you are. If you use the number somewhere else, the wrong address may be sent. Keep the address current and tell us at once if it changes.
Internet-based numbers need power and an internet connection. During an outage a call may not connect. Responders may be unable to call you back on the number, so give your number and location to the call-taker.
Until we confirm in writing that emergency calling is active for your number, assume it is not.
