Why we verify
Carriers and telecom rules expect providers to know who uses each number. Verification also protects customers, because it keeps numbers away from fraud and abuse.
What we may ask for
The exact list depends on the order, but it can include:
- The name and contact details of the person who will use the number
- A government-issued identity document
- For a company, its legal name, registration number and address
- A short description of how the number will be used
One customer, one number
Numbers are not shared between customers, and documents must belong to the customer or an authorised representative.
How we handle documents
We use documents only for verification and legal compliance, store them with access controls and keep them for as long as the law requires. The privacy policy explains this in full.
If we cannot verify you
If we cannot complete verification, we do not activate the number and we refund the amount paid, less any carrier costs we cannot recover. See the verification policy and the refund policy.
